Division of Office of Public Health and Science, Office of Minority
Health through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch,
plans to award a 12 month sole source simplified acquisition to the
Hawaii State Department of Health. Anticipated award date is August 30,
2000. The purpose of this contract is to convene the Hawaii Office of
Health Parity Advisory Group comprised of representatives from
community agencies and Health Department programs to assist the staff
of the Office of Health Parity to produce, publish, and distribute a
report on the characteristics of existing data sets related to the
health of minority populations and extracted tables of the most recent
data available on the health status of these minority populations. The
contractor shall provide the support necessary to carry out the
following tasks: Tasks: 1. Establish the Hawaii Office of Health Parity
Advisory Group. 2. Provide logistical support to convene a minimum of
six meetings of the advisory group. 3.Provide the leadership, and in
consultation with the advisory group, identify the local and national
data sets, develop the specifications and procedures for the assessment
of the data bases and develop the data profile for the data tables. 4.
Assess the quality and utility of the data bases, review current data
reports, extract appropriate data, compile the data, and construct
data tables. 5. In collaboration with the advisory group and the data
consultant coordinate the preparation, production, and distribution of
the final summary document. The proposed Simplified Acquisition is for
services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with
only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may
identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 10 days
after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the
Government not to compete this proposed Simplified Acquisition based
upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for
the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive
