(703) 602-0951 x638 NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND (NAVSEA), Program
Executive Office Mine and Undersea Warfare (PMS 407) intends to
procure, under full and open competition, The Live Detonation Cord for
the Shallow Water Distributed Explosive Technology (DET) Mine
Clearance System (MCS). The Live Detonation Cord is to be used as part
of the Distribution Explosive Technology (DET) System, EX 10 MOD 0.
Requirements include manufacturing, inspecting, testing, and delivery
of DET Live Detonation Cord. The requirement is for a basic quantity of
120 feet of Pre-Production Sample Live Detonation Cord, 35,000 feet of
First Article (FA) production Live Detonation Cord, and 497,000 feet
of production Live Detonation Cord. The required delivery for the basic
will be 9 months after the effective date of the contract. There will
be three options with remaining requirements of 360 feet of
Pre-Production Live Detonation Cord and 1,832,000 feet of Production
Live Detonation Cord. The options, is exercised will require delivery
commencing 9 months after the option is exercised. It is contemplated
that the contract will be issued on a FOB Origin basis. The delivery
point will be determined at time of award. The RFP is expected to be
available on the NAVSEA Headquarters Contracts Directorate Homepage the
later part of July 2000. This solicitation will be issued
electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.0102 (a) (7) and
14.205-1 (c), therefore hardcopies will not be provided. Vendors
wishing an electronic copy may download it on or after the issue date
by accessing the following address via the internet:
http://contracts.hq.navsea.navy.mil/home.html. CAUTION: This
solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments
thereto. Because of this, the Government is under no obligation to
maintain a bidders mailing list. The Solicitation will incorporate a
Technical Data Package (TDP) available to the offerors for a
reproduction cost of $65.00. Vendors need the TDP in order to prepare
a bid or proposal and are instructed to request same by submission of
an email request to: greentj@ih.navy.mil. . Any said requests should
contain the following information: Cage code (if available), Company
Name, Point of Contact (optional), Street Address, City, State, Zip
Code, Telephone Number. A TDP will be provided by normal mail after the
solicitation has been released to the internet and the reproduction
cost of $65.00 has been submitted. A Bidders Conference will take place
at Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, 101 Straus
Avenue, Indian Head, MD 20640 on August 9, 2000 from 0900 -- 1200. The
names of those wishing to attend the bidder's conference should be
provided to A. Odonnell no later than July 31, 2000. She may be reached
