The Naval Air Systems Command intends to issue a firm fixed price modification under Contract N00019-00-C-0363 with McDonnell Douglas Corporation (MDC), A Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Boeing Company, P.O. Box 516, St. Louis, MO 62166-0516 for two AV-8B Remanufacturer Aircraft. This action will be negotiated on a sole source basis to MDC, under the statutory authority of FAR 6.302-1 (only responsible source and no other services will satisfy agency requirements). MDC is the only known contractor who possesses the expertise, avionics, integration capability, and information required to produce the AV-8B Remanufacturer Aircraft in a timely and cost effective manner.
