59 -- INFRARED MUZZLE FLASH DETECTOR SYSTEM SOL MAYTUM DUE 081400 POC Kimie A. Sanchez, Contracting Officer (520) 328-6123 WEB: NOTICES -- MAYTUM -- INFRARED MUZZLE FLASH DETECTOR SYSTEM, http://www.yuma.army.mil/contracting. E-MAIL: Ann.Sanchez@Yuma-exch1.army.mil, Ann.Sanchez@Yuma-exch1.army.mil. The Electronic Branch at the Materiel Test Center of the United States Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), AZ is seeking sources that can supply an Infrared Muzzle Flash Detector System (IMFDS). The IMFDS system shall detect infrared radiation in the 1 to 3 micron ranges at a working distance of 3 to 200 feet. Other system requirements are: The System must be rugged for use in an arctic, desert or high humidity test environment. Ruggedization and environmental factors include temperatures ranging from 15 degrees to +60 degrees Celsius, humidity from 0 to 95% RH (non-condensing), exposure to driven sand and dust, capability to withstand peak blast overpressure up to 1 psi and easily transportable to and from work sites in off-road conditions. Physical size and weight should be low to allow easy handling and mounting on tripod. The IMFDS must have a total delay of detection to output of less than 150 sec. The IMFDS will be used to detect muzzle flash from 60mm mortar to 155mm artillery weapons. The IMFDS must incorporate a sensitivity adjustment to compensate for range of low to high levels of infrared and distance to source of flash. The IMFDS must incorporate an attachable shade or extension of "viewing" lens for purposes of preventing false triggers and possibility of excessive sunlight burning out cell. The field of view will be approximately 3 degrees circular. The IMFDS must have (1) 50 ohm, single ended analog output, (1) 50 ohm, isolated and single ended digital output with a variable output level adjustment of 1 to 15 volts incremented. Pulse Width of digital outputs should be within the range of 5mSec +/- 2mSec. Output connectors must be of the female BNC type. The IMFDS must be equipped with mount compatible with commercially available tripods. Tripod mount holding IR device shall also be adjustable in elevation and azimuth without the need to move the tripod legs. It is requested that your company Email detailed technical information on your company's proposed IMFDS to Ann.Sanchez@Yuma-exch1.army.mil or send information by facsimile to (520) 328-6849 no later than 14 August 2000. Be sure to include the name of the project, your mailing address, point of contact, phone number, facsimile number, email address and business size along with your system data. You may visit our web site at http://www.yuma.army.mil/contracting also. We anticipate that the acquisition of this system will be considered commercial and that any subsequent award will be based on acquisition of commercial items under FAR Part 12 using best value factors.
