E-MAIL: Janet K. Reese, jreese@wstf.nasa.gov. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ, posted on 7/17/00, FOR TWO DRY (NO INTERNAL OIL PUMP). Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to respond to the following questions which were submitted: 1) The main specification in the solicitation was for a oiless pump, with a speed of 45CFM, and a dead head pressure of 5 millitorr. Can it be assumed that the rest of the information contained in the solicitation was provided to give an example of an acceptable offer? Answer: Yes 2) Do the pumps need to be manufactured by Busch? Answer: No 3) Do the pumps need to be of the screw style? Answer: Yes 4) What delivery schedule is WSTF under? Answer: As stated in the RFQ, the desired delivery date is August 24, 2000. However, September 15, 2000, is the latest acceptable delivery date. 5) Would minor deviations from the set specifications be acceptable? (ie a pump with a dead head pressure of 6 mtorr, instead of 5 mtorr) Answer: Maximum dead head pressure 20 mtorr. 6) We would like to inquire if a single, larger pump of 124 cfm would be appropriate to this requirement, with the other specifications the same. Answer: Yes, a larger Screw pump would also be appropriate. The pump must be a screw pump however. The due date for receipt of offers is extended to July 28, 2000.
