Valdez, (303) 236-5900 ext 424 The U.S. Geological Survey, EROS Data Center, Sioux Falls, SD has a requirement to provide professional services for design to renovate approximately 5,500 square feet of existing space. Services shall include but are not limited to the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates and provide guidance and support during the construction and renovation process. These services shall be procured in accordance with PL 92.582 (Brooks A/E Act) and FAR Part 36.6. Required services include, but are not limited to ceiling system and all ceiling components, exhaust hoods, and associated hood fire suppression systems. Design appropriate ceiling height, fluorescent lighting, and approximately 400 square feet of partitioned area for the building's security force. Include windowed opening to corridor entrance to allow for interaction with personnel entering and leaving the building. Complete evaluation of the existing HVAC system and associated duct. System was originally designed (1972) to support warehousespace. HVAC system shall be required to support an open office concept and more then adequately support the functionality of the design. Fire detection and fire sprinkler systems. Existing building fire detection system is the Honeywell FS-90 system. Windows shall include glazing and interior window coverings. Interior slab to ceiling partitions may be required to section off some areas but yet maintain the open concept within said areas. Add alternates to be included in the design: removal of exterior glass partition and the extension of the building footprint to the existing patio to maximize interior space. A new foundation and concrete floor shall be required. The existing patio shall be removed and the landscape extended to match the existing concept. Removal of the side handicap entrance and the installation of a new automated entrance. New entrance shall meet ADA requirements. The estimated construction cost range is between $250,000.00 to $500,000.00. The selection criteria are listed in descending order of importance. A. Professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance of required services. B. Specialized experience and technical competence in the type of work required, including, experience in energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste reduction, and the use of recovered materials. C. Capacity to accomplish the work in the required time. D. Past performance on contracts with Government Agencies and private industry in terms of cost control, quality of work, and compliance with performance schedules. F. Location in the general geographical area of the project and knowledge of the locality of the project. Firms having capabilities to perform this work and desiring to be considered shall submit four packages, each consisting of one completed SF-255 (11/92 edition) for the project, and one completed SF-254 (11/92 edition) for the prime firm and each subcontractor and consultant, to the above address not later than the close of business August 14, 2000. Only firms that respond to this synopsis by filing a current SF-254 and SF-255 will be considered. No work will be performed under this contract by a subcontractor unless that subcontractor's qualifications have been submitted on a SF 254 in connection with this announcement and documented on the SF-255. Include the business size and estimated percentage of involvement of each firm (prime and subs) on the proposed team in SF 255 Block 3b. No Pre-submittal conference is planned for this award.
