Minority Health through the Program Support Center, General
Acquisitions Branch, plans to award a 12 month sole source Simplified
Acquisition to the Wyoming Department of Health, community and Family
Health Division. The anticipated award date is September 1, 2000. The
purpose of this contract is to implement activities related to the
recommendations developed during the May 19 meeting. These activities
will provide an evaluation/assessment of the health status of racial
and ethnic communities in Wyoming. In addition, these activities will
address and identify capacity building needs for the State in order to
better address the needs of racial/ethnic populations. The outcome of
this project is a report describing a comprehensive assessment of the
health status of Wyoming's racial and ethnic communities and
recommendations to strengthen the Wyoming Department of Health's
minority health activities to promote and enhance the health and well
being of Wyoming's racial/ethnic communities. The contractor shall
provide the support necessary to carry out the following tasks: 1.
Develop format and guidance for the development of a statewide minority
health status assessment. 2. In collaboration with community leaders
conduct statewide community forums to solicit community input and
recommendations for enhancing services to minority communities. 3.
Provide educational and coalition building activities related to
minority health issues. 4. In collaboration with Region VIII's Regional
Minority Health Consultant, identify and establish a Statewide minority
health advisory committee. 5. Based on the findings from the community
forums and assessment, the Contractor shall prepare and submit a
report to the PHS Region VIII, OMH Central Office, the Wyoming
Department of Health, County Health Departments, community partners and
other interested parties. THE PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION IS FOR
SERVICES FOR WHICH THE GOVERNMENT INTENDS TO SOLICIT AND NEGOTIATE WITH
ONLY ONE SOURCE UNDER AUTHORITY OF FAR 6.302. INTERESTED PERSONS MAY
IDENTIFY THEIR INTEREST BY RESPONDING TO THE REQUIREMENT WITHIN 10 DAYS
AFTER THE DATE OF PUBLICATION OF THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION BY THE
GOVERNMENT NOT TO COMPETE THIS PROPOSED SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION BASED
UPON RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE IS SOLELY WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE
GOVERNMENT. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL NORMALLY BE CONSIDERED SOLELY FOR
