Replace existing gas distribution system, mains and service lines, within Patton Park Housing Area and Chaffee Village, Ft. Hood with new polyethylene system. System shall consist of pipes, valves, fittings, regulators, relief devices and meters. Existing system shall be abandoned-in-place. Work shall also include, but not be limited to, concrete and pavement repair/replacement, boring under roads and other access ways, and encasement of buried pipes. After completion of construction, contractor shall locate all new gas valves in relation to Fort Hood's GPS. Minimal asbestos removal on risers. The estimated Contract Duration of the Base award (Patton Park) will be 206 days. The estimated Contract Duration for Option 1 (8 inch Gas Line) will be 174 days. The estimated Contract Duration for Option 2 (Chaffee Village) will be 268 days. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) is 1623; business size standard is $27.5 Million. The Solicitation is to be issued on or about 14 August 2000. Bids will be due on or about 13 September 2000. The Government intends to issue this solicitation through the use of the Internet.
