The Social Security Administration (SSA) is interested in receiving quotes on a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager with a Braun equipped entervan power ramp system. This is a combined synopsis/request for quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a simplified acquisition, 100% small business set aside, issued as request for quotation (RFQ), number SSA-RFQ-00-8026. Quotations submitted from other than small businesses will be rejected. All responsible small business sources may submit a quotation that shall be considered by the Agency. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 3711. The small business size standard is 1000 employees. This request for quotation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Acquisition Circular 97-18. Quotations in response to this RFQ shall be submitted by Friday, August 4, 2000, 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time, addressed to the Social Security Administration, Office of Acquisition and Grants, Attn: Christine Nagengast, 1710 Gwynn Oak Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, 21207, or faxed to (410) 966-9310. REQUIREMENT: 2000 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan, Plymouth Voyager with Braun equipped entervan power ramp system. The salient characteristics are as follows: 10" lowered floor only (4 door configuration); side ground effects with molded step running boards; removable front driver and passenger seats; removable three passenger factory rear bench seat; carpeting to match the interior; air conditioning in front and rear; power windows; power locks; four door style; automatic transmission; fold out power ramp; power side entry sliding door with three switches (sets); tinted glass all around; deep cranberry color; key entry system; remote control system with two key chain transmitters; remote control power ramp and door; kneeling rear suspension system; lowered door sills (specify driver and/or passenger); and, EZ lock Electric Tie-Down system (local installation). Total quantity required: 1 (one) van. The following provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors -- Commercial Items, (tailored) apply to this acquisition: (b)(1) -- (b)(9), (b)(11), (c), and (g). The government will award a contract resulting from this request for quotation to the responsible quoter whose quote conforming to the quotation will be most advantageous to the Government price and other factors considered. The following factors shall be used to evaluate quotes: technical capability of the item quoted to meet the Government's requirement as described above (see FAR 52.212-1(a)(4)) and price. A written notice of award or acceptance of a quote mailed or otherwise furnished to the successful quoter within the time for acceptance specified in the quote, shall result in a binding contract without further action by either party. Before the quote's specified expiration time, the Government may accept a quote or part of a quote), whether or not there are negotiations after its receipt, unless a written notice of withdrawal is received before award.
