This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested & a written solicitation will not be used. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). This is a BRAND NAME OR EQUAL Acquisition. The Dept of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (Western), intends to procure the following Brand Name or Equal: Microwave Antenna Tower Dish Radomes (covers); ITEM 001: Microwave Antenna Tower Dish Cover, 18 Each; for 8 Ft Diameter Dish, RFS Cablewave Systems P/N 311348 -- Teflon-Coated Fiberglass Cover with 15 year warranty or equal; ITEM 002: Microwave Antenna Tower Dish Cover, 10 Each; for 10 Ft Diameter Dish, RFS Cablewave Systems P/N 311349 -- Teflon-Coated Fiberglass Cover with 15 year warranty or equal. MANUFACTURER: Radio Frequency Systems (RFS) Cablewave Systems, 200 Pondview Dr., Meriden, CT 06450; TEL NBR: (203)630-3311. The salient characteristics of the RFS Covers are: Must fit & accommodate parts associated with Antenna Model Nbrs DA8-65 (Antenna with Dish Diameter of 8 Ft) & DA10-65 (Antenna with Dish Diameter of 10 Ft); covers must be Teflon-Coated Fiberglass & come with a 15 year warranty. In the event the contractor offers articles pursuant to the brand name or equal provision of this solicitation, the Contractor guarantees that the articles supplied will meet the salient characteristics. To be considered for award, offers of 'equal' products of the brand name manufacturer must (1) meet salient characteristics specified in the solicitation; (2) clearly identify the item by i)brand name, if any; & (ii) make or model nbr; (3) include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to a previously furnished descriptive data or information available to Western; & (4) clearly describe any modificationthe offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive literature material to clearly show the modification. Western will evaluate 'equal' products on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer & reasonably available to Wester. Western is not responsible for locating or obtaining any information not identified in the offer.
