DUE 080700 POC Peter Schuster, Contracting Specialist, 304-285-4468
E-MAIL: Peter Schuster, Contracting Specialist,
peter.schuster@netl.doe.gov. The U.S. Department of Energy's National
Energy Technology Laboratory has a requirement to prepare an R&D plan
to develop materials technology for an initial target 760C
ultra supercritical fossil power plant with an eventual goal of
870C. The plan must identify the materials issues that need to
be addressed in the program, and outline test programs needed to
address these issues. This purchase is being issued to Electric Power
Reseach Insitute (EPRI) because it is uniquely suited to plan and
perform R&D on ultrasupercritical (USC) materials. EPRI has been a
leader in materials R&D since the 1980's, managing and contributing
technical expertise to the development of several of the steels that
are critical to the operation of current USC boilers. This request is
considered a sole source to Electric Power Research Insitute.
Therefore, no solicitation will result from this announcement. Request
for information should be addressed to Peter E. Schuster, MS I07, P.O.
Box 880, and Morgantown, WV 26507-0880. Note 22 applies. Posted
