Penn Machinery Company, Inc. on a sole source basis to overhaul the number 2 ships service diesel generator on its Training Vessel, the Kings Pointer. The Academy requires the use of Catepillar(the original equipment manufacturer)parts for this effort. H.O. Penn, as the local authorized service dealer of Catepillar, is considered the only service provider that is able to meet all required needs, including the provision of a comprehensive warranty, which allows for national service coverage and the effecting of warranty repairs throughout the vessel's operating range, at no additional cost to the Government.
