Z -- REHABILITATION OF THE ROOF SYSTEMS ON 5 BUILDINGS AND A COVERED WALKWAY SOL N8601000156 DUE 092100 POC Mikki Darr, 602-640-5250 Extension 227 The work of this contract consists of rehabilitation of the roof systems on the historic Petrified Forest National Park Maintenance Building, Maintenance Vehicular Storage Building, Community Center Building, School Building, Apartment Wing Building, and the Covered Walkway at Petrified Forest, Arizona. The work includes installation of a single ply roofing system. Work of this contract shall include preparation of the roof surface by demolition of the existing roof membranes and flashing down to the existing decks, and removal and disposal of all materials. The work shall include the abatement of roofing material potentially containing asbestos; repair of the associated decks; placement of tapered insulation; and fabrication and installation of associated copper roof flashing details. The Petrified Forest National Park Visitor Center Complex and maintenance buildings though constructed in the 1960s are considered significant historic buildings. The contractor shall be required to become familiar with the Secretary of the Interior Standards for Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings and the recommended treatments as outlined within the standards. This project is located at Petrified Forest National Park, between Interstate 40 and U.S. 180 near Holbrook, Arizona. Access to the park can be made by traveling west on Interstate 40 exiting at milepost #311. Access through the park can be made by connecting with U.S. 180 at the south end, then taking U.S. 180 west to Holbrook and continue west on Interstate 40. East bound visitors can exit Interstate 40 at Holbrook and take U.S. 180 east to the park, drive north through the park and return to Interstate 40. Estimated start work date is October 14, 2000 and estimated completion work date is December 12, 2000. Estimated price range of this project is between $250,000 and $500,000.
