The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is seeking sources to indicate an interest in providing Mainframe Recovery Services for an IBM 9021-9x2 processor complex located at 3501 Fairfax, Drive, Arlington, Virginia which provides mainframe services to the FDIC. The machine is rated at 468 MIPS and has 192 channels connected to local devices. A total of 2,048 Mbytes of memory are available to the machine's ten processors. An expanded storage capability of 8,192 Mbytes is available for staging data. The machine operates under the IBM Operating System (OS/390) and has access to more than 3.5 Terabytes of Direct Access Storage Device(DASD). Mainframe computer services support nationwide user communities on a 24 hours/day, 7 daya/week basis. Currently, the FDIC subscribes to a disaster recovery service that provides a Hot-Site computer configuration, ready conditioned space, two test periods per year, an LROC, and connectivity to commercial networks.
