The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through the Program Support Center, General Acquisitions Branch intends to award a six month sole source Simplified Acquisition to La Bodega de la Familia for Development of Curriculum and Training/Technical Assistance Materials related to Involving the Family in Substance Abuse Treatment for Offenders. The materials are to be used in a two-tiered knowledge dissemination approach, varying on its level of intensity and depth. The first tier will unitize information training sessions for large audiences and will consist of a Power Point presentation and general overview of "families as a resource." The second tier will provide comprehensive training and technical assistance to policy and program personnel. The materials to be developed for this tier will be detailed and included in a manual that will serve as a template for trainers. The manual will include a comprehensive discussion on the tools and mapping methods that have provensuccessful in Bodega's work, such as the use of genograms and ecomaps. As part of the initial stage of development of the materials, a one day retreat will be held with experts in relevant fields. No solicitation is available.
