(USAID) is seeking Request for a Justice Sector/Rule of Law (ROL)
Specialist Democracy and Human Rights Team, Regional Sustainable
Development Office Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean
(LAC/RSD/DHR). The contractor shall deliver three reports on: (a) the
status of implementation of the Justice Studies Center (including
discussion of the work-plan, selection of the Executive Director,
relationship or synergy with the judicial training center based in
Puerto Rico, and progress toward attracting other donor and private
sector financing); (b) recommendations on interagency and donor
coordination of justice sector activities in the LAC region and on
integrating police activities into rule of law activities in LAC
regional and bilateral programs; (c) the status of and prospects for a
country specific ROL/AOJ (rule of law/administration of justice)
activity in a non-presence country, Venezuela; and 2) To produce up a
to maximum of three background papers on the LAC ROL programs for the
transition team of the new administration after the November 2000
presidential election. A firm fixed price award will be made based on
full-and-open competition. The request for quotations was issued on
July 21, 2000, originally to close on 7/28/00. The new closing date is
