This is to inform all interested parties that this requirement is being cancelled do to the fact FY01 and FY02 funds have been pulled to support some other effort. This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis. The following information is provided to assist the Air Force in conducting market research of industry to identify sources of commercial items that meet Air Force requirements. This is neither a Request for Proposal nor an Invitation for Bid. The ICBM System Program Office is considering replacing 32 Peacekeeper Stage II/III Container Auxiliary Power Unit and Environmental Control Systems (APU/ECS), NSN 1450-01-238-6461AI. The replacement must interface with the existing container configuration, reliably perform all required environmental and alarm functions, and be field repairable and serviced by Air Force personnel. The APU/ECS must have a 10 year running life with a 15 year storage life. The APU/ECS performs the function of maintaining interior container temperature at 55 degrees Fahrenheit to 82 degrees Fahrenheit. Interested parties are requested to submit descriptive literature concerning company capability and potential existing commercial solutions. It is requested that literature submitted be 10 letter size pages or less. The Government does not intend to contract on the basis of this request or otherwise pay for the information.
