E-MAIL: Senah Williams, senah.williams@edwards.af.mil. The AFFTC no longer intends to award a contract to Hydraulics International, Inc., Chatsworth CA. This will be a full and open competition. All other information remains the same. The Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB, CA (AFFTC) intends to award a contract to Hydraulics International, Inc., Chatsworth CA. The requirement is for four (4) Hydraulic Support Systems (HSS), capable of producing fluid mass deliveries, pressures, and temperatures for the Air Force F-22 aircraft. The HSS shall be a computerized hydraulic pumping unit designed to check the performance and operating characteristics of aircraft hydraulic systems. It shall be semi-portable, mounted on skid, and forklift accessible from both sides. The HSS shall accomplish the following operations: 1)Provide a source of filtered, deaerated and dehumidified hydraulic fluid at controlled pressures and flow rates up to 500 feet in distance from the HSS, meeting the operating parameters described in the statement of work to operate the aircraft hydraulic components without the necessity of starting the aircraft engine. 2) Test the aircraft hydraulic system for evidence of component malfunction or failure and leakage of hydraulic fluid. 3) Drain or refill aircraft_s hydraulic system and/or reservoir. 4) Provide sources of hydraulic power for static proof pressure testing of aircraft systems and components at pressure up to 5000 PSIG. 5) Fill the aircraft reservoir through adjustment of backpressure. 6) Fill or drain aircraft reservoirs through fill and vent system. 7) Improve physical characteristics of the hydraulic fluid by controlling its temperatures and reducing particulate, air and water content. 8) Perform the above functions remotely from a computer-based control/monitor system and locally from a control panel mounted on the HSS. Training on use of the systems will be required. Delivery of initial system for testing is required 18 weeks after contract award with the remaining three units due 27 weeks after contract award. Interested companies are required to provide relevant past/present performance information and current product specifications to Janice White at the above address or fax to (661) 277-2114 no later than 07 August 2000. See Notes 22 and 26. Posted 08/01/00 (D-SN480834). (0214)
