The Solicitation Number is DABT57-00-Q-1087 and is issued as a request for quotation. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. A Statement of Work will be issued upon request. The service requested is: Installation/repair of required cross connection/backflow prevention concerns. TThe following deficiencies were found and require correction: Provide Reduced Pressure Principle (RPZ) devices (replacing existing Double Check Valve (DCV) assemblies and aboveground hot boxes for in ground irrigation systems. Repair/replace/install various devices in boiler rooms, belt ress at Big Bethel Water Treatment Plant, install RPZ devices on various wet fire suppression systems. Upon completion of repfair/installation, contractor should conduct BFPD testing and certify the devices. Personnel installing the equipment and conducting the test must be certified BFPD testers recognized by the City of Newport News. A City of Newport News Department of Public Utilities (Waterworks) Cross Connection Control and Backflow Prevention Test Form will be completed by the contractor for each device. The work to be done is located on Fort Monroe and Big Bethel Water Treatment Plant, Virginia. These sites are military installations, and all rules and regulations issued by the Commanding Officer covering general safety and sanitary requirements, etc., shall be observed by the Contractor. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-15. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 4941. This solicitation is a 100% set-aside for small business with a small business size standard of 500 employees.
