This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The SIC Code is 3826, and the small business standard in 500. The Agency need is for a Fluorescence Spectrophotometer with Attached Microplate Reader. The following specifications are necessary for the Fluorescence Spectrophotometer: (1) Wavelength ranges -- Excitation: 200-900 nm. Zero order selectable. Emission: 200-900 nm. Zero order selectable. (2) Limit of detection: <1.0 pM fluorescein using standard cell; <10 pM fluorescein using 40 ul microcell; <25 pM QBS in standard cell. (3) Minimun sample volume: 0.5 ml (using standard 10mm fluorescence cell) (4) Signal averaging: Fluorescence 0.0125 to 999 sec; Phosphorescence 1 usec to 10 sec (gate time); Bio/Chemi-Luminescence 40 usec to 10 sec (gate time) (5) Temperature monitors (temperature probe inside curvette) Specifications for the Microplate Reader include the following: (1) Reading Modes: Fluorescence; Phosphorescence; Bio/Chemi-Luminescence (2) Measuring Types: Wavelength scanning; Kinetics time scanning; single and multiwavelength reads; time-resolved fluorescence and phosphorescence. (3) Sensitivity: 3 fmol/well fluorescein in a black well. Well-to-well repeatability <2.0% for every well of a 96 well microplate. (4) Must be able to read up to 384 well format.
