NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for VERICUT SOFTWARE LICENSES AND SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE ON GOVERNMENT-OWNED COMPUTER NUMERICAL CONTROL MACHINES: Vericut Floating License, 5 each; Vericut Floating License Maintenance, 5 ea; Optipath, 1 each; Optipath Maintenance; Machine Building, 1 each; Machine Building Maintenance; Machine Simulation, 1 each; Machine Simulation Maintenance; Multi-Axis, 1 each; Multi-Axis Maintenance. THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE FOR THIS SERVICE WILL BE FOR A PERIOD NOT LESS THAN ONE YEAR WITH AN OPTION TO EXTEND THE PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE FOR THREE (3) ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIODS. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from CG TECH SALES, PO BOX 120 CAMP HILL, PA 17001. CG Tech Sales is the only known source for Vericut software. his software and software maintenance must be compatible with existing Vericut software currently being used to perform scientific computing and analyses in the Model, Instrumentation, and Systems Branch, Experimental Testing Technology Division at NASA Langley Research Center. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:00 p.m. local time on August 16, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
