E-MAIL: Sharon V. Hare, S.V.HARE@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for GRIDGEN Software Licenses with options for two additional one year periods. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from Pointwise, Inc.to continue existing software licenses. As the developer of the software, Pointwise, Inc. is the only known source who can provide GRIDGEN software. The GRIDGEN software is used to produce multi-block structured numerical grids for use in computational fluid dynamics analyses to support design studies of hypersonic vehicles. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on August 17, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
