Stringfield, Contracting Officer, (202) 514-5731 or John Young, Supervisory Contract Specialist, (202) 305-7745 The Office of Justice Programs(OJP), Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) attends to award on a sole source basis a purchase order to JB Technologies, Inc., 7113 Saltgrass Way, Elk Grove, CA, 95758, to modify an existing National Corrections Reporting Program (NCRP) to include additional new variables. The incumbent will perform the necessary database maintenance support for the program modification, testing and implementation. NCRP collects individual level inmate records on prisoner admissions and releases from 41 State prison systems. Beginning in 1999, 9 States were selected to participate in an enhancement to the NCRP. The enhancement includes five new variables on sentencing and the projected length of stay, and a new year-end custody population record. California was selected to participate, based on their large prison population and experience working with automated prisoner files. The California Department of Corrections Information Systems Division's workload prohibited them from accomplishing the changes to the extraction programs and enhancement tasks for reporting year 1999. The data is not available from any other California State Agency. The contractor was selected by the California Department of Corrections to perform the work, based on the contractor's extensive knowledge of the Department's Offender Based Information System.
