Health Consolidation, Paul.Weathersby2@med.va.gov. The DVAMC,
Tuscaloosa, AL, Requires the services of an A/E for the development of
design program and construction drawing for Project 679-304 "Mental
Health Consolidation". Project will consist of renovation of existing
interior space, to include Mental Health Outpatient Office/Treatment
area, Domino moves, Domiciliary modifications. A/E will be required to
submit cost proposal for complete design work at one time. Contract
for Schematics, Design Development, and Construction documents will be
awarded at one time. Contract award will be pending availability of
funds with a ninety (90) day acceptance period. All drawing will be in
AutoCad Release 14 and turned over to the Department of Veterans
Affairs on 3 " high-density disks. Design submissions and final
documents will be in accordance with VA Handbook H-08-15 Volume C,
"Minimum Requirements for A/E Submissions". The estimated construction
cost for this project is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. The area
of consideration is restricted to within a 200-mile radius of DVAMC
Tuscaloosa, AL. The A/E firm will be evaluated with the following
criteria: Factors 1 through 3 are rated equal in the highest of
importance. 1. TEAM PROPOSED FOR THIS PROJECT, Background of the
personnel (project manager, key personnel, and consultants such as who
will be providing expertise in: asbestos identification, hazardous
waste materials identification, including u.s.t.'s, irrigation and
water supply systems inspection reports, environmental assessments, &
const. Insp. 2. PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF PROPOSED TEAM (years experience
as a team) Project Experience in relation to type of project being
interview for. 3. DESCRIBE EXPERENCE & CAPABILITIES in Interior Design,
CADD & Other Computer Applications, Handicapped Accessibility, and Fire
Protection. Factor 4 through 6 are rated equal but slightly less
important. 4. PROPOSED MANAGEMENT PLAN Conceptual and Design Phases is
team selection driven by experience or job location, and Construction
Phase. 5. ESTIMATING EFFECTIVENESS list the Five most recently bid
projects to demonstrate estimating effectiveness. 6. CAPACITY describe
ability to respond on short notice. Factor number 7 is of least
importance. 7. LOCATION AND FACILITIES OF WORKING OFFICES, Prime firm
