Response to this CBD notice must be received no later than August 18, 2000. The United States Department of State (DOS), Travel and Transportation Division, has a requirement for a contractor to be responsible for all necessary materials, labor and equipment required to manage, supervise, and build export boxes and containers, in the operation of a Government-provided warehouse for the storage of household effects (HHE) of Government employees. The storage process shall include, but will not be limited to, receipt of loose-packed HHE from van lines or export- packed HHE in wooden lift vans/crates, inspection and weighing of the boxes, determining the method of storage and placing them in storage. The contractor shall maintain an inventory, load the HHE into storage pallet boxes and prepare a "bingo card" for each box, indicating on the inventory the number and identification of each box's contents. Contractor shall assign a storage lot number to be placed on upholstered furniture, place the pallet boxes into the warehouse and note the location of each in the records that are to be developed and maintained by the contractor. An adequate locator system must be established and maintained to enable prompt identification and removal of effects in storage. This is a small, disadvantaged business set-aside. SIC code is 4225 and small business size standard is $18.5 million. It is expected that the solicitation will be released on or about August 25, 2000, and receipt of proposals will be due on or about September 29, 2000. The contract will include a twelve-month base period of performance with four twelve-month option periods.
