R -- COURIER AND MESSENGER SERVICES SOL 00-0017 DUE 081400 POC Sandra Souders, (301) 713-0854 R -- The U.S. Dept of Commerce/NOAA/Finance Office has a requirement for an insured/bonded courier service to provide daily pick-up and delivery of passports, visas, packages or small boxes (not to exceed 70 pounds) to/from NOAA offices and various embassies in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. As necessary, the courier will be asked to Federal Express packages containing travel orders, passports and visas. Occasionally, the courier will be asked to carry money orders to pay for visa fees. Services will be required beginning September 1, 2000 and will not exceed September 30, 2001 (please note that service may be terminated prior to September 30, 2001). The government will provide a vehicle for the courier's use during the government's specified daily schedule as set forth in the Statement of Work. Interested parties must meet the following criteria: 1) Must have extensive driving experience in the Washington metro area ; 2) Familiarity with location of the various embassies in Washington, D.C.; 3) Have a valid driver's license; 4) Must have necessary clearances to access the buildings serviced ; 5) Must have a cell phone. Interested parties are invited to submit a written request for the solicitation package to the address above, to be received no later than fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice. At time of proposal, interested parties must submit information as to their capabilities and any other pertinent data. All received proposals will be evaluated on a "best value" basis.
