commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart
12.6, as supplemented with addition information included in this
notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals
are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The
Request for Proposal incoporates provisions and clauses in effect
through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18 and is set aside for small
business under SIC 8331. STATEMENT OF WORK HAZARDOUS MATERIALS BASIC
CHEMISTRY 1. The contractor to provide a forty (4) hours of training
for twenty twenty-five (20-25) students at Ft Leonard Wood, MO. The
course is to be scheduled September 2000 and coordinated through CPT
Charles R. McGinnis @ (573) 596-0131 ext. 62348. 2. The course should
be designed for the emergency responder at the Military Company or
Command level. The main course objective is to convey a sound
understanding of the basic chemistry of hazardous chemicals. Course
contents should include:  Physical and chemical properties of
matter  Atomic structure of matter  Intro to the
behavior of inorganic and organic chemicals  Hydrocarbon and
organic compounds and their properties  Forms of energy,
flammable liquids, and the combustion process  Fundamental laws
of chemistry as they relate to the behavior of hazardous materials
 Researching and interpretation of chemical data  Types
and use of monitoring equipment 3. Minimum instructor qualifications
should include National Fire Academy Chemistry certification or a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry. In proposal please provide
qualifications of the instructor. 4. The contractor should provide all
course-training materials. The following Government Furnished
Equipment (GFE) will be available, overhead or video projector, if
necessary. 5. Proposal should include a breakdown of instructor hourly
rate, travel costs, material costs and profit/overhead rates.
