vworrell@fdcclant.uscg.mil. The U. S. Coast Guard is considering
setting this project aside for HUBZone concerns only. The estimated
construction cost is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The applicable
Standard Industry Classification (SIC) Code is 1623 and the small
business size is $17 million. The work includes, but is not limited to
installation of 6-inch potable/fire protection water piping; 4-inch
sanitary force main piping; and 2-inch/4-inch diesel fuel
double-containment piping. The water and sanitary piping systems will
be heat-traced and insulated. A leak detection system will be installed
at three low-point sumps in the diesel fuel containment system. The
electrical source for the heat-trace and leak detection systems will be
from existing panels. The sanitary pipe will be trenched from the base
of the pier to the existing lift station. New short structural beams
will be installed along the existing pipeway to provide pipe support
for the new utility piping. At the present time, the acquisition is
expected to be issuedunder full and open competition procedures.
However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305, if your firm is HUBZone
certified and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please
respond by e-mail to vworrell@fdcclant.uscg.mil. Your response should
include (a) a positive statement of your intention to submit a bid for
this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in
work similar in type and scope including contract numbers, project
titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with telephone numbers;
and (c) a statement detailing your bonding capability. Your response
must be received by 4:00 p.m. on August 9, 2000. The required
information must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be
made on availability of interested HUBZone concerns. Failure to submit
all information may result in a contractor not being considered as an
interested HUBZone concern. A decision on whether this will be pursued
as a HUBZone small business set-aside or on an unrestricted basis will
be posted on the Electronic Posting System (EPS) web site. Posted
