This is a small business set aside. Work includes all labor, material, equipment and supervision necessary to accomplish the repair roofs at the VA Medical Center, Syracuse NY. The project includes work on the Research Lab Roof and the Kitchen HVAC unit enclosure. Work generally includes general construction, roof work, alterations, HVAC, electrical work, sheet metal work and necessary removals as required by the specifications and drawings. Due to the weather conditions in the Northeast, the contractor shall have 45 days after the notice to proceed to complete the work for Bid Item III: Kitchen Roof HVAC enclosure work which includes installation of pressure treated nailers; metal siding; standing seam roofs; flashing and counterflashing; sealants; and relocation of existing exhaust fans. Bid Item II: Research roof shall have 75 days for completion from the time the Contractor starts work on that roof. The work will most likely occur in the Spring of 2001. Estimated availability of bidding package is 8/15/00. Attendance at a pre-bid job walk tentatively scheduled for August 31, 2000 at 10:00am is considered essential.
