This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation Q528000048 and will be awarded as a purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17. The FAR Provision 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items applies to this Acquisition. The FAR Provision 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications-Commercial Items, applies to this Acquisition. Offerors are hereby instructed to submit a completed copy of the provision with their quote. The FAR Provision 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. The FAR Clause 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statues or Executive Orders-Commercial Items applies to this acquisition apply. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. The associated standard industrial classification code is 3251. The small business size standard is 500 employees. Quotes must be received no later than August 17, 2000, before close of business. The National Park Service has a requirement for the following items: 1) Produce bricks for stabilization work at Fort Jefferson, Florida. Bricks shall match the original fabric in size, color and texture. Bricks shall be palletized with the total weight of each pallet not exceeding 2,000 pounds. Brick must be secured to the pallets in a manner that prevents movement or spilling of the brick. Pallets must be configured to facilitate transport via barge to the fort and lifting with a crane on site. Bricks will be shipped to Miami, Florida. Exact address will be given at time of award. Price per unit shall include shipping to Miami, Florida. Quantity is 80 units at 1000 bricks per unit (80,000 bricks). Size: 4 1/8" x 2 2/3" x 8 ". Color: 70,000 light range/ 10,000 dark. Destination FOB: 12 weeks after acceptance of submittal. A representative sample of the production brick, six of each color range, must be provided to Fort Jefferson for inspection and approval prior to production run 4 weeks after receipt of order. This is to insure size, color and texture match with original fabric. Any product information shall be furnished along with all supporting data with the quote. The National Park Service is not responsible for locating or securing any information that is not identified in the quote and reasonable available to the National Park Service. To insure that sufficient information is available, the bidder must furnish as a part of the quote all descriptive material (such as cuts, illustrations, drawings, warranty information and other information) necessary for the National Park Service to determine whether the product meets the salient characteristics of the requirement. If the bidder proposes to modify this announcement, he/she shall include a clear description of such proposed modifications and clearly mark any descriptive material to show the proposed modifications.
