The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Optim Electronics, 12401 Middlebrook Road, Germantown, MD 20874 under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for Analog Input/ Output (I/O) Modules for Mega Dac 5414 Series Data Acquisition System. The items that are being purchased are: four (4) AD 684SH-1 Analog Input Module; seven (7) STB 684/120, and three (3) AD 694SH Analog Input/ Output module. These I/O modules are required to be the exact make and model specified. These modules are required to operate in an existing Optim Electronics Mega Dac 5414 Data Acquisition System to provide additional capacity. They are required to have system compatibility. These electronic designs are proprietary and the required compatibility cannot be provided with any other make and model. There is no known third party vendor authorized to resell or provide the manufacturer's warranty. Only modules for the Mega Dac 5414 Series Data Acquisition System will satisfy the requirement. FAR 52.247-34, FOB Destination applies. Delivery location is National Institute of Standards and Technology, 100 Bureau Drive, Building 301, Shipping & Receiving, Gaithersburg, MD, 20899-0001. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, all responses received by August 16, 2000 will be considered by the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The anticipated award date will be fifteen to twenty days after the date of this notice. Numbered Note 1 applies. Numbered Note 22 does not apply.
