C -- ARCHITECTURE AND ENGINEERING SERVICES DESIGN TO REPLACE MAINTENANCE HANGAR AFFF DUE 081400 POC Point of Contact -- Janey L. Bateson, Contracting Officer, 614-492-4237 The due date for this project has been extended from original date of 08/04/2000 to read 08/14/2000. Original announcement has also been modified to include Note 1 in the description. Architecture and Engineering services are reguired for the design of an an AFFF for Building 888 at the Ohio Air National Guard, Rickenbacker IAP, Columbus, Ohio. This design contract will cover the installation of the AFFF system and all its components including pumps, plumbing, sensors, controls, panels, and underwing turrets. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000 and $1,000,000. Services will include, but not limited to: (1) Type A services, consisting of (a) performing field surveys, investigations, inspections, and data collection necessary to support the design phase and (b) developing alternative concepts for design phase; (2) Type B Design services, (at the option of the government), consisting of accomplishing a complete design based on the Government Project Book with engineering calculations and design analysis, technical specifications, detailed drawings, and cost estimated for use in competitive bidding by contractors; and (3) Type C Construction Inspection and Testing Services (at the option of the Government). Significant selection criteria in decreasing order of importance are as follows: (1) professional qualifications of the firm's stafdf in disciplines proposed for for performance of required work; (2) specialized work in the required time; (3) capacityto accomplish work in the required time; (4) past performance; (5) location of the firm relative to Rickenbacker IAP; (6) demonstrated success in prescribing the use of recovered material and achieving wast reduction and energy efficiency in facility design.
