Regarding the National Science Foundation's sources sought synopsis for Bassler Turbo-67 medium-lift, medium-range airlift service in the Antarctic (posted in CBDNet on July 5, 2000, refer to W-187, SN471516) the following information is being provided at the request of interested parties. (1) Aircraft range and load requirements: (i) 5,000 lbs ( 400 lbs) with an operating radius of 250 nm and 45 min fuel reserve; (ii) 4,000 lbs ( 300 lbs) with an operating radius of 400 nm and 45 min fuel reserve; (iii) 3,000 lbs ( 200 lbs) with an operating radius of 525 nm and 60 min fuel reserve; and (iv) 2,000 lbs ( 100 lbs) with an operating radius of 700 nm and 60 min fuel reserve. (2) Aircraft maximum range: (i) 2,000 nm maximum range with 45 min fuel reserve using long range fuel tanks; and 1,000 nm with standard tanks. (3) Capability to load an LD3 container through the main cargo door. (4) Capability to load five LD3 containers. (5) Cabin volume of not less than 1,200 cu ft. (6) Single engine operational ceiling of not less than 13,000 ft at maximum weight. (7) Passengers: (i) nine minimum; and (ii) nineteen maximum. (8) Maximum conversion time from cargo to passenger configurations, 30 min.
