for the restoration of the Pacific Crest Trail: Indian Mountain to Lolo
Pass, on the Hood River Ranger District of the Mt. Hood National
Forest, Oregon. Restoration includes reconstructing the trailbed,
removing slough and berm, reshaping and refinishing backslopes,
removing rocks and roots, filling ruts and troughs, cutting back brush,
logs and stumps, construction of ditch, waterbars, drain dips,
turnpike, culverts. A high standard of finish work is required. Project
is entirely outside National Forest Wilderness. A brief description of
how project can be located by prospective bidders: Project begins at
Indian Mountain near Wahtum Lake, and ends at milepost 10 on Forest
Road 18 (Lolo Pass.) Solicitation package for this project will be
available on or about August 21, 2000. Offers will be accepted until
Close of Business on September 19, 2000. Recommended contract time is
365 days. Government estimated construction range is between $100,000
