certified check or money order payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S.
Postal Service) from the Windsor Facilities Service Office, 6 Griffin
Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Work includes, but is not limited
to, providing all labor, materials and equipment required to complete
a building addition and renovation project (approximately 5,234 sf) at
the historic Main Post Office, 161 Water Street, Skowhegan, Somerset
County, Maine. Close coordination with ongoing operations and phased
construction will be required in addition to coordination with a USPS
asbestos contractor. The estimated cost of construction is between
$1,275,000.00 and $1,325,000.00 with construction completion no later
than 360 calendar days after receipt of the Notice to Proceed.
Construction will shut down from November 23, 2000 through January 2,
2000 for the holiday mail season. There will be a preproposal meeting
held on site (Skowhegan Post Office, 161 Water St.) to discuss the
specifics of this project on August 30, 2000 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
