SOUTHWEST REGIONAL OFFICE, BRANCH OF ROADS HAS REQUIREMENT FOR
CONSTRUCTION PROJECT RN139 (1) 2&3, OLD SHEEP ROAD WITH IN THE RAMAH
AGENCY. Furnish all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials,
and quality control necessary to perform Grade, Drain and Aggregate
Surface Course. Project RN139 (1) 2&3 is 3.220 km (2.0 miles) in length
and located on the Ramah Navajo Indian Reservation in Ramah, New
Mexico. Solicitation packages will be available for distribution on
August 7, 2000. The anticipated performance period is 120 days from
Notice-to-Proceed. The contract will be issued on an "All or None"
basis. Site visits are encouraged and may be arranged by contacting Mr.
Wilbur Lockwood at the Ramah Navajo Agency (505) 775-3235. Bid opening
is scheduled for September 6, 2000, at 1 p.m. (local time), in Suite
204 at 615 First Street, NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87125. Please
submit a written request for a bid document to the Bureau of Indian
Affairs, Branch of Acquisition and Property Management, Attention:
Charles Yellow Bird. Telephone requests will not be honored but fax
requests will be accepted at (505) 346-7186. This is a Buy Indian
Set-Aside acquisition, in accordance with the Buy Indian Act and,
Section 7(b) of Public Law 93-638 (25 U.S.C. 450e) and 48 CFR 1404.7002
require that preference opportunities in employment and training be
given to Indian/Alaskan Native Individuals and preference in the award
of subcontracts be given to Indian/Alaskan Native economic
enterprises. Only firms meeting the 51% ownership and control by Native
American/Alaskan Native will be able to participate in this
