To access Crowe Dam go 5 miles south-southeast of Provo, SD, on Fall River County Road 7, then 0.5 miles east. Alternate access in dry weather, go 1 mile south of Rumford, SD, then 4.5 miles west. The existing spillway has deteriorated to the point that the possibility of dam failure is quite high, with a major flow through the spillway. The spillway emptied into a natural draw that was not hydraulically stable. Erosion in the draw undermined the concrete section and has moved about halfway up the spillway. The dam and surrounding area is being maintained currently as a wildlife and recreation area. The project will involve putting in a trickle tube and locating a new spillway to prevent dam failure. The estimated price range for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. This will be a firm, fixed-price contract. The proposed contract performance period is 90 calendar days.
