amargrave@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey, 345 Middlefield Road,
Menlo Park, California 94025-3591, has a requirement to purchase, on a
sole source basis, from Nanometrics Inc, 250 Herzberg Road, Kanata,
Ontario, Canada K2K2A1, a satellite telemetry, and digital seismic
station spare parts. The Northern California network (NCSN) Project
operates a network of 400+ seismic sensors in northern California to
record earthquakes recorded in the region for seismological research
and hazard warning purposes. Telemetry of data by this network is
accomplished by a variety of methods: telephone lines, microwave
transmission, and satellite radio uplinks. Spare parts are need to
maintain the transmission requirement set forth by the NCSN to meet
it's mandated mission requirements of earthquake research and
earthquake hazard warning for northern California. Nanometrics Inc. can
provide the spare parts needed to 'plug-in' to the existing system
without modification. Delivery date is needed by September 2000. Posted
