COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF AUGUST 8,2000 PSA#2659 Commander (AAL), U.S. Coast Guard TISCOM, Alexandria, VA 22315-3940 58 -- DIGITAL RADIO FACSIMILE EQUIPMENT DUE 082400 POC Technical POC:
James Brown, (703) 313-5677 Information is requested on communication
systems capable of digitally transmitting and receiving three (3) or
more high-grade analog signals (radio facsimile)generated by Marta
Systems Inc (DSPix7) processor boards, point-to-point, over a single
dedicated 56 kbps digital leased telephone (TELCO) landline. System
Requirements -- Input Signal/Interface: Analog, Signal Level -7 dBm
Nominal, Carrier Frequency -- approx. 2400 Hz +/- 5%, Amplitude
Modulated, Impedance -- 600 ohms balanced, Interface -- Serial,
Asynchronous, RS-232, 4 Mbps. Output Signal/Interface: 56 kbps digital
leased landline, V.35 interface with external TELCO provided DSU.
Data: CCITT Group 3 facsimile, Weather Charts, 8-bit grayscale (256
levels). Power: 115 VAC Mechanical: Compact, self contained 19" rack
mountable. Remote Access Configuration Control: The system shall be
capable of being configured remotely, using a personal computer
connected to a local configuration port, accessing the remote site
system equipment viathe established aggregate point to point digital 56
kbps link. The configuration connection shall require minimal bandwidth
so as not to hinder the primary function of the equipment. Remote
Access Configuration Personal Computer Software: The configuration
software required for the personal computer shall ba a
HyperTerminal-like application or a simple system configuration like
softwear. The software shall be provided with the system. System
Redundancy: The system shall be capable of automatically switching to
redundant components so that the failure of any single hardware
component (e.g. power supplies, I/O modules, interface cards, system
control modules, etc) does not cause the system to fail. Information
Submission Requirement: Only Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)
should respond to this solicitation. The OEM shall be prepared to
demonstrate the efficacy of its system. The information shall include
sufficient technical detail to identify required system components and
component configuration. Additionally, a technical point of contact
(POC name and phone number) is required with all information
submissions. All information is to be submitted to: COMMANDER, USCG
