K -- DUAL ROW AIRDROP SYSTEM (DRAS) ASSEMBLY SOL W13G07-0217-6001 DUE 090100 POC Elaine Scarnici, Contract Specialist The US Army Materiel Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division, has a requirement for up to eighteen (18) sets of modular outriggers, consisting of a pair of arms, two (2) mounting assemblies with latching mechanisms and two (2) stabilizing feet, which are to be fabricated from existing Government drawings as well as the Scope of Work to be provided with the Request for Quotations (RFQ). All components will be made of aluminum and weigh approximately 400 pounds in total. The outrigger arms, made of 7-inch diameter one half-inch thick aluminum tubing, are approximately 78-inches in length. The mounting assembly on to which each arm is fastened has basic dimensions of 24-inches x 18-inches x 6-inches. The foot mounted at the end of each outrigger arm is made from a casting. The outriggers are to be mounted on a modified Type V airdrop platform to reduce the chance of roll-over when the load impacts the ground. The work will require machining, welding and casting by qualified personnel.Eight (8) sets of outriggers are required to be delivered to Ft. Bragg, NC, no later than 29 December 2000 and up to ten (10) additional sets are required no later than 26 January 2001. The Government anticipates this acquisition will result in a Firm-Fixed-Price type purchase order. The best value source selection will be based on the quoter's proposed price, delivery schedule and past performance. Price and Delivery schedule are equal, past performance is of less importance than price and delivery schedule. Pricing shall be filled in on the (RFQ), W13G07-0217-6001, (CLIN 0001). Quoter's shall also submit a one page past performance sheet listing at least three recent (past two years) references for a similar item. The past performance sheet must contain a point of contact for each company or Government Agency, a current telephone and fax number, the dollar amount of the contract or purchase order and order/contract number. This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business. The Standard Industrial Classification is 3441; the size standard is 500 employees. The RFQ will be posted on the Natick Acquisition Web Site: http://www3.natick.army.mil on or about 21 August 2000. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by this agency.
