The Government may have a need to purchase 100 each Gunner's Auxiliary Sights (GAS) in support of the M1A1 Tank program. The proposed acquisition would support a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirement. A general description follows: The Gunner's Auxiliary Sight (GAS) is an 8X, 8 degree field of view optical telescopic Abrams Tank gun aiming sight with a selectively filtered, periscopic light path. The sight utilizes a two option, illuminated reticle with azimuth and elevation control. It is coaxially mounted in a high shock and vibration environment with the Abrams Tank main gun and is articulated to minimize eyepiece movement during gun aiming movement. The GAS is used as both a primary and a backup sight. The NSN and Part Number for the GAS are as follows: 1240-01-259-9096, 9377915. The purpose of this notice is to identify and establish initial interest and points of contact from private industry. This information may be used to prepare a bidders mailing list and design acquisition strategy to include socioeconomic program support. It may also help to identify/establish commercial practices available to the Government.
