States Army Network Engineering Telecommunication Activity (USANETA),
located at Ft. Huachuca, Az 85613-5000 is seeking information
concerning the state of commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS), direction
finding (DF) products. The purpose of this RFI is to invite vendors of
DF products to submit profiles of their products to USANETA for
inclusion in a USANETA Electromagnetic Compatibility Program (EMCP)
archive of DF system products. The archive will be for USANETA EMCP
internal use only and will not be released outside of USANETA. All
information will be treated as public knowledge. Vendors should not
submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. The focus of
the RFI is on the following type of DF system: Lightweight, portable,
suitcase Direction Finding (DF) system for the 3 to 14.5 GHz frequency
range. No component shall exceed 75 lbs in weight. No component shall
exceed a two man lift while in its transit case. All components shall
have individual or share a transit case with other components. All
components shall be suitable for repeated shipment in transit cases.
System assembly time shall be 1 hour or less including antenna/mast
system. Antenna/Mast system shall adapt to mounting on typical minivans
and cargo vans to allow a drive away system with a variety of vehicles.
DF Line of Bearing (LOB) suggested accuracy is 2 degrees or less. The
system shall be automated using a INTEL/WINNT2000 platform. Automation
platform shall employ GUI, provide LOB traced on map display, and
provide worldwide digital mapping display capability. The system
software shall accept user input of GPS position coordinates or provide
integrated position tracking via GPS. System power shall be compatible
with 110/60 Hz or 220/50 Hz sources. NDI/COTS acquisition. Response to
advertisement shall be a white paper describing system performance
accompanied with any associated literature in existence such as
brochures or presentation slides. Respondents are welcome to provide
information in the form of product brochures, press releases, technical
specification sheets, reprints of trade journal articles, etc. All
submissions should be submitted as hardcopy (preferred), electronic, or
both according to the following instructions. Suspense date for
