This requirement is for qualification testing for a second source for the PLS Radial Tire for military tactical wheeled vehicles. The following on-vehicle tests shall be conducted per test methodologies called out in performance specification SAE J2014: Tire Noise Level, Tire Traction, Evasive Maneuver, Rolling resistance, Ride Handling Stability, Tire Braking Test, Mechanical Reliability (2,400 miles), and Tire Treadlife Durability (10,000 miles). A Ton-Mile Per Hour test and Single-Wheel Skid Resistance test shall also be conducted. This acquisition will be awarded on a sole source basis to the Nevada Automotive Test Center. See Note 22.
