Q -- MEDICAL SERVICES SOL RFQ600-071-00 DUE 081800 POC Jeanette Morris, (562) 961-8055 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Business Center hereby intends to issue a solicitation for Readjustment Counseling services located in the San Luis Obispo area for the Vet Center, Santa Barbara, California. Readjustment counseling for the purpose of this solicitation is counseling provided by Social Workers, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Registered Nurse or other Counselors, individually or in groups specifically directed at social,psychological, or behavioral problems which bear a distinct relationship to the process of readjustment from military duty to civilian life. The Contractor will be required to provide a service delivery mechanism, emphazing and understanding the readjustment problems of veterans who served during the Vietnam era, and Post-Vietnam Armed Conflict Zones, and the provisions of counseling specifically tailored for such problem, in a relatively unstructured, client oriented setting, located outside existing Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) facilities. The group of individuals eligible to receive readjustment counseling services include veterans of the Vietnam-Era who served on active duty the period February 8, 1961 through May 17, 1975 and Post-Vietnam armed conflict zones that had other than dishonorable discharges. These groups are: Lebanon, Aug 25, 1982 through Feb. 26, 1984; Grenada, Oct. 23, 1983 through Nov. 21, 1983; Panama, Dec. 20, 1989 through Jan. 31, 1990; and the Persian Gulf, Aug. 1990 through April 12, 1991. This is a small business set-aside (SIC Code 8042). The contract shall be for one (1) Base Year, with the Government having the option to extend for four (4) one year periods.
