Officer 202/942/4996 The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
intends to award a sole source purchase order to Mr. Larry Hoskins,
located at 716 Culpeper Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22405. Mr. Hoskins
will serve as a part-time information technology (IT) consultant. The
IT consultant shall provide a variety of critical advisory services
including: 1) reviewing and anlayzing critical legacy application
issues within the jurisdiction of the Office of Information Technology
and how these issues impact other divisions and offices; 2) reviewing
and advising OIT staff as to the requirements and implications to the
changing and/or migration of legacy applications to the modernized
environment. As part of his duties, the consultant will be expected to
attend meetings and conferences on above matters, report developments
and render advice accordingly. The period of performance will be one
year from date of award. The SEC has surveyed the market and believes
that Mr.Hoskins, due to unique expertise and specialized knowledge,is
the only source capable of meeting these requirements. Accordingly the
SEC intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the
authority of FAR 6.302, for a part-time consultant. Interested persons
may identify their interest and capability to respond to the
requirement by calling Joan Johnson at the above number by 2:00 pm. on
August 21, 2000. This notice of intent is not a request for
competitive quotes. However, all quotes received by above date and time
will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government
not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this
notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information
received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of
determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Posted
