E-MAIL: C. Lynn Jenkins, C.L.JENKINS@larc.nasa.gov. NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a Dynamic Runway Occupancy Measurement System (DROMS). NASA intends to build upon the success of the Terminal Area Productivity (TAP) Project 1997 demonstration of surface automation technologies at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport (ATL) by deploying a Dynamic Runway Occupancy Measurement System (DROMS) at Memphis International Airport (MEM) and interfacing it to the existing Airport Traffic Identification System (ATIDS). A six month operational test period and maintenance will be required. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR PART 12. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 3812 and 750 employees, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurment is DO-C9. The anticipated release date of RFQ 1-151-OH-1022 is on or about August 14, 2000 with an anticipated quote due date of on or about August 28, 2000. All qualified responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
