The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with CVD Equipment Corporation; 1881 Lakeland Avenue, Ronkonkoma, New York 11779 under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) for a Polysilicon Chemical Vapor Deposition system upgrade. The Contract Line Item Number (CLIN), quantities, and unit of issues are as follows: CLIN 0001- One (1) Low Pressure Low Temperature Polysilicon Chemical Vapor Deposition (LPCVD) system upgrade -- TS 4005. CLIN 0002- Services to include installing new system; training personnel for new system; and upgrading the existing systems to include a computer selection box a location selection box, interface cables, and video cards. CVD has previous knowledge of our existing systems. This equipment must be obtained from CVD Equipment Corporation because the system that is under modification was originally manufactured and installed by CVD along with current upgrades for CVD systems. The upgrade modification is customized by CVD for NIST's specific application and is designed to run existing CVD software that will only work with the currently installed equipment. CVD will be integrating the new electronic controller and two existing CVD systems into one efficient, safe and reliable controller. FAR 52.247-34, FOB Destination applies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However, the Government will consider all responses received by August 17, 2000.
