84 -- FIRE RETARDANT IMERSION SUIT (FRIS) SOL USZA99-00-Q-0097 DUE 082500 POC Thelma Escobar, 757-492-7960 x2228 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, and FAR 13.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number, USZA99-00-Q-0097, is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-12. This procurement is a Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside in accordance with FAR 52.219-1. This contract action is for Fire Retardant Imersion Suits (FRIS) with the following description, full latex neck and wrist seals. One piece dolman type sleeves, forming the front body and the back body to the waist, hook and pile tab at each wrist. Chest tolerance is 5cm larger than normal. One piece dolman leg, forming each side up to waist with plain ankles, attached REI Gortex Oversock sewn into the legs. One piece pile fabric placed on each shoulder (4"x4"). One three division pen pocket on a self fabric carrier at the upper left sleeve. Two inch elastic back waist in an external self fabric channel. Waterproof zipper entry across shoulder blades (when zipper is closed slider is on right shoulder). Horizontal, waterproof access zipper fly. One front thigh patch pocket with a hook and pile fastening flap on upper right leg. One boxed bellows patch pocket with hook and pile fastening flap on upper left thigh. One lower thigh boxed bellows patch pocket with hook and pile fastening flap on each leg (placed on the outside leg seam). All pockets have punched drainage holes. Self fabric internal reinforced patches on seat, knee, and elbows. Outer fabric material color to be Ocean Gray, Pantone Color 17-1501TC. Essential Features for Fris Suit, comprised of NOMEX III on the face and Modacrylic Flame retardant liner. The mass will consist of 180 g/m2 for the face and total of 310g/m2. Method of testing shall be by British Standards (BS), 3424 method five. Requirement for flame resistance shall include no ignition, no hole, and no afterglow. These shall be tested according to BS 5438 test two using a 60 second NO flame application time before and after washing to BS Standard 3120. Waterproofing shall be tested for windproof specs less than 0.02 cm3/cm2/second in accordance with test method BS 5636. Water vapor transmission shall be greater thatn 4500g/m2/24 hrs. Sizes are (15) Medium, (25) Large, (15) X-Large. Questions pertaining to the solicitation must be submitted in writing and may be faxed to Thelma Escobar, 757-492-7954.
