tb14j@nih.gov. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National
Institute on Aging (NIA), intends to negotiate a six year contract with
Wake Forest University School of Medicine to collect ancillary data to
the Study of Tamoxifen and Raloxifene (STAR). The data to be collected
will include assessments of memory, cognition, and mood in older women
who are participants of STAR. The data will allow the comparison of
the effects of tamoxifen and raloxifene on cognitive aging. Wake Forest
University is currently conducting a study under contract titled
"Effects of Hormone Replacement Therapy on Cognitive Aging: Women's
Health Initiative Study of Cognitive Aging (WHISCA). One of the goals
of the proposed project is to compare cognitive outcomes in this
project with those from WHISCA. Wake Forest University has the sole
access to the sampling information and data on WHISCA participants, and
only Wake Forest University has informed consent from the WHISCA
participants to allow utilization of the data. The appropriate
statutory authority is 41 USC 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR
6.302-1(a)(2). This is NOT a Request for Proposal. If, however, there
are any responsible sources who feel they possess the abilities which
would enable them to perform this project, they may submit a proposal
which will be considered by NIH. SEE NUMBERED Note 22.**** Posted
