U.S. Environmental Protection Agency seeks a contractor to summarize
and critically evaluate the available published epidemiologic database
pertaining to short-term ambient ozone exposure and mortality, prior
to preparation of the U.S. EPA's workshop draft of the revised Air
Quality Criteria for Ozone. (Under this contract, the term "short-term
ambient ozone exposure" shall mean ambient ozone exposure with an
averaging time of one month or less.) This effort includes the
following specific tasks: (1) to write summaries and critical
evaluations of relevant portions of the available epidemiologic
database; (2) to attend the peer-review workshop on the workshop draft
of the revised Air Quality Criteria for Ozone; (3) to assist in
responding to comments on the workshop draft by workshop participants
and the public, as pertaining to short-term ambient ozone exposure and
mortality; (3) to assist in preparing the first external review draft
in light of these comments and of new, relevant scientific studies
that may be published; (4) if necessary, to assist in revising external
review drafts until closure on the revised Air Quality Criteria for
Ozone has been received from EPA's Clean Air Scientific Advisory
Committee. Specific requirements will be outlined in the statement of
work contained in the Request for Quotations (RFQ). RFQ-PR-OH-00-00577
will be issued on or about August 24, 2000, with written quotations
due on or about September 7, 2000. The proposed acquisition will be
processed under the procedures of FAR Part 13. All responsible sources
may submit a written quotation which will be considered by the Agency.
